Floyd Tract fronts on Hwy 21 just south of Newington GA in Screven County. A portion of property on the back side of the railroad was bedded and planted in Slash pine approx. 2012. Front side bordering Hwy 21 has naturally regenerated in pine of about the same age. A hardwood drain runs through the property on back side which presently is holding water. This could be utilized for a duck pond along with some area of pines that were flooded. During summer month, this area adjoining the drain could possibly be planted to attract waterfowl. Property hold plenty of deer and is excellent hunting. The slash pine plantation appears to be growing well on remaining area. Property also fronts on Leola Road. A historical aerial imagery time line of the property shows an excellent stand of timber on the property with the hardwood drain well delineated. This stand was harvested and reforested to the current timber stand. Property taxes for 2019 were $2,070 and the property is not in the local CUVA conservation easement.
